Examples
Your musicianship material should run roughly in parallel with the H&C lecture material. Here are syllabus examples, sorted by level:
(TO DO: get all these syllabi!)
- H&C 1
- H&C 2
- H&C 3
- Fall 2007: Lou's lectures, Felipe's recitations
- Fall 2008: Jairo's lectures, Nicol's recitations
- H&C 4
- Spring 2008: Lou's lectures, Felipe's recitations
- Spring 2009: Caro's lectures, Clara's recitations
A Unified Foundation
You should be aware that in fall 2008 we are implementing diagnostics and standardized tests fo
recitations and
lectures to unify class material. You should plan your classes to cover the material on the tests.
Distinct Supplements
You have the freedom (and class time, we hope) to supplement this foundation with musicianship material of your choice. This wiki is a repository of such material, cross-listed by the following tags:
- "orthodoxy": conventional, contemporary material for the Western art-music canon
- "heterodoxy": material that explicitly opposes the ideology or canon of orthodox musicianship
- "ethnomusicianship": emic musicianship for non-standard., and often non-Western, repetoire
- "historical musicianship": performance practice
Please add your own materia l to the wiki! The more the better.
